“If you want to photograph a man spinning, give some thought to why he spins. Understanding for a photographer is as important as the equipment (s)he uses.”
- Margaret Bourke-White
Photography has always felt less like a way of recording what I see and more like a way of understanding it.
I’m drawn to the in-between moments, the details people pass by, the character of a place, the way light can completely change something familiar, and the traces we leave behind. Sometimes that means documenting a person or an event; other times it means photographing a quiet landscape, an aging building, or something ordinary that suddenly feels worth noticing.
My work is rooted in storytelling, curiosity, and a strong sense of place. I’m especially interested in images that hold a little mystery, photographs that don’t tell you everything at once, but invite you to stay with them for a moment.
Based in Pensacola, Florida, I work across fine art, documentary, event, and commissioned photography. I also collaborate with businesses, organizations, and individuals who are looking for thoughtful imagery that feels genuine rather than generic.
If you have an idea, a story, or a project you’d like to explore, I’d love to hear about it. You can reach me through the website or follow along on Instagram at @JennHendrixPhotography.
